Bagyong Ofel

Storms more than anything is a source of immobility here in this country. After what happened to Ondoy, we've become more scared of the downpour than the actual gusts that storm brings. Anyways, we don't really need a repeat of the heavy Ondoy downpour to actually prove a point. With an amateur storm named Ofel, which is currently leaving the country as I type, parts of C5 are already flooded.

After an hour of driving like a granny, I parked and thought of Bruce. This might be his first official storm in our house. I know this sounds a bit overreacting, but I wanted to check up on him. He might be cold. He might be scared. He might be wet.

Instead I found him happy but preoccupied with a bone near our dirty kitchen. He was so preoccupied that he allowed me to say goodnight without a fuss. Apparently, the household learned fast that to give Bruce anything he could destroy and munch would result to peace and happiness to those concerned. Bruce couldn't care less about the rain. He was on his 3rd bone I think as I've seen remnants, bits and pieces scattered in his area. If the 3rd bone gives, he only has my dad's car to munch on...unfortunately.

On this 3rd bone. Preoccupied on a rainy night.
As for Harvey, he doesn't need anything. He usually sleeps it off comfortably. Ate Ne makes him wear a shirt to ward off the cold. I sometimes see he's still curled up so I envelop him in a towel or mini blanket. Then off to sleep he goes.

One of his favorites. His "Lacoste"orange shirt.

Chivas is more demanding. He usually sleeps beside Ate Ne in her room on a rainy night. Something you'd really expect from a really preppy and snobbish dog. Buddy on the other hand, calmly and independently guards the other lot and like Harvey just sleeps the storm off. He's quite a veteran.

So upon checking up on my pack, I realized that everything's okay and there's nothing to worry about. Bruce is preoccupied with his bone until he tires out and he finally sleeps. Harvey and Chivas are comfortable where they are. Buddy is his normal self and couldn't care less about the storm.

Ofel isn't that bad anyways, well at least not in Manila. Just heavy rains for a short period of time without thunderstorms. And I heard that for some reason huge dogs are more scared with thunderstorms. I don't intend to find out anytime soon.

So, I initially planned to read after I blog and before I sleep, but I think posting this blog seems to be my last activity for the day. I'm tired and spent and I'm just happy that everyone's okay.

Good bye world for now! Good night! I hope everyone's safe, comfortable and cozy.

See you Green World tomorrow!
